I think I am a food hoarder. There I said it. I spent yesterday going thru my pantry. Now mind you, this pantry is built like shitola from our previous crappy contractor. I renovated my kitchen a year ago and while I really love it, I notice things now that he missed or was lazy on. The space in the pantry on is so deep, with no pullouts, you can't manage to see a damn thing. Couple that with me being 5'2 on a good day, I buy food that turns into a desolate expired date wasteland. I threw 2 massive bags away yesterday of very good and very expensive food. Some of it was dated from 2008. How utterly embarrassing. People are starving and I am throwing this stuff away. A shame I tell you. I have a new mission. Keep it more organized, do not food shop until I have looked thru the cabinets to see if I have stock in said product.
With all of that said, I am now organized and have the fridge and cabinets cleaned out spotless and nice and neat. This will help with the Thanksgiving and Holidays coming up. This will also help with my upcoming surgery in the beginning of the new year (if all goes as planned).
On another note, I made my Psych Eval for December 14th. I have attended one PCP Supervised diet appt and only have two more to go. She is definitely recommending it for me and writing me a great letter to go along with my surgeons recommendations. She is also faxing each months recommendation while I am there versus waiting till the end. I love not having to phone stalk people to do their job. I have only had one experience with that so far and that was hunting down my last 2 years worth of records which chart my weight each time I am in the office. I had one Dr. send a note after I went down there and asked for ALL my records to be faxed. His note (instead of records requested) stated: Patient has not been seen since 2010. So what?? Is that what I asked? Dr - please know by law, I have access to these records. Anyways, end rant.
So with all that .... I should be good to go and have everything sent to the Insurance company by mid January! Things are moving along swiftly and with the holidays, and the end of year flying by.... I think I planned everything perfectly!! 2012 is going to be a GREAT year. I can feel it :)

{mic} Is this thing on?
My first blog but not new to blogging. I write this knowing I may never have anyone see this or if anyone does, it may not be for awhile or make any impact.
This blog will be a learning experience, a journey thru self control, a food blog and the discovery of the pretty girl hidden inside.
A little about me:
I am a 30-something, Sicilian who lives in St. Petersburg, Florida. I am a professional and have quite a few interests that I make myself tired sometimes. I am a total foodie and a pretty damn good cook and baker. I work in the professional stratosphere but I am extremely lucky to be able to telecommute and not deal with the corporate BS that looms out there.
I have two fur kids. I am a poodle fanatic and have a 3 yr old poodle named Gypsy who needs her own lap-band and a Pekingese named Manchu (as in the Fu Manchu). Not sure of his age but he is about 5-6 I think. He showed up on my doorstep as a stray the very day after my beloved poodle, Monet, passed away at 17 yrs tragically. (long - very ugly - sad story). Needless to say, he came to me for a reason.
I splurge on food, good wine, travel, music, my family and fashion. I am a music fiend by heart, an eco-friendly green pusher and lover of the arts.
With being a foodie, I became fluffy. I hate the word fat. It's ugly unless it's being discussed about the "good fats" in avocados. I just don't want to hear the word fat and my ass in the same sentence. I get it... I have extra and I want it off.
I have been up and down my whole life but always carried extra. I was never tiny. Never. But I was also never this heavy. I was a size 12/14 but with a cute shape in high school. Thru college and by the time I was 20, I didn't gain a freshman 15, I gained a freshman 60.
But then some things happened over time and I have gained, taken it off and gained it back plus more.
First time you ever heard this, right? Yah, exactly.
Except this time I decided to make a different type of change. More substantial and more permanent and more drastic and this is where my journey takes me. I am on the road to getting gastric banding.
Until next time....
